WHAT IS DYSLEXIA

Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling.

Dyslexia is not just a difficulty with reading and spelling, it can include challenges with remembering sequences of instructions, organisation, being able to finish tasks in a timely manner, punctuality, left and right awareness and many other issues that impact on normal day to day activities.

It is common to have overlapping difficulties with motor coordination, concentration and attention, visual stress and auditory processing disorders.

Other learning difficulties include Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), also known as Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia (difficulty with numbers), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

All of these issues can affect self-esteem and spill over into anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions.

We can advise on all these conditions. Please contact us for a free 20-minute telephone consultation to discuss your options.
